The Savage2000 Chip

The Savage2000 is the heart of S3/Diamond's Viper2. The Savage2000 is based on a split .22/.18 micron cut, meaning that the transistors are .18 micron, and the chip itself is .22. With this low micron cut, they are able to run the chip at 125MHz with only a heatsink, despite the 13 million transistors.

As you can see, this chip was definately designed to go head-to-head with the new chips from NVIDIA and the like. One of the nice new features is the TV-out capabilities, and obviously Transformation and Lighting. Let's see how the Viper II Z200 utilitizes these features.
